All vloggers want more viewers and subscribers, and we all want more interaction and fan involvement, too, right? There are all kinds of ways to improve your views and engagement, but most vloggers can actually do a great deal for their YouTube channels just by changing a few minor things about their videos to make them more effective.
Brand Your YouTube Videos
To begin with, start branding your videos, not just your YouTube channel. You probably already have a logo and a cool catchphrase for your channel, right? If you don’t, you really should. Branding your videos with a memorable and unique logo in the intro and at the end of your videos is a great way to build brand recognition, but you don’t have to stop there.
Create a branded background with a poster or banner of your logo hanging behind you in each of your videos, if your filming location is always the same. This makes your YouTube video instantly recognizable even if someone happens to view it on a different site or embedded in an article.
You can also wear branded merchandise like a T-shirt, hoodie, tank top, or hat. And you can get these custom-made pieces of merchandise online with no minimum order from most print on demand sites like CafePress or Zazzle, too.
Use Calls to Action in Your YouTube Videos
Next, don’t forget about the power of a call to action. Sometimes, vloggers don’t know how to end their YouTube videos, and so the last few seconds end either too abruptly or tend to trail off awkwardly. You can neatly and clearly end your videos while making them more effective with a simple call to action.
For example, you could say something like, “Thanks for watching! If you liked what you saw in this video, go ahead and give me a thumbs-up and subscribe to the channel! If you have questions or comments, head down to the comments section and let me know what you think!” This wraps everything up nicely and gives your viewers something to do that will help you out and boost your engagement.
Get Your Audience Involved
You’ll note that we included, “Head down to the comments and let me know what you think!” in that call to action. That was intentional because you always want to get audience feedback and interactions whenever possible. The more people talk about your videos, like them, and comment on them, the higher your YouTube channel will rise.
So be sure to address your viewers, ask them questions, and encourage feedback in each of your YouTube videos. Doing this will greatly improve your audience engagement.
Use Great YouTube Video Titles
Finally, never underestimate how much a great title can do for you. A great title has the keywords your viewers frequently search for when looking for the kind of content you upload to your channel. It also has something special about it that makes it really stand out from other titles.
For example, “How to Style Straight Hair” is a decent title, but “How to Style Straight Hair Like a Rock Star” is a great title. Create titles that really show your YouTube channel’s personality and make it stand out.
Use these four methods to improve your YouTube videos’ effectiveness, and you’ll see some really interesting and satisfying changes to your channel’s engagement.
