YouTube is currently making big changes to its creator studio, which will also include a feature being rolled that allows viewers to go through comments accordingly with the different topics being discussed under your vlogs.
“We call them comment topics, and they give viewers a way to browse comments according to (you guessed it) the topics being discussed”, said YouTube in a blog post.
Viewer engagement is key to growing your YouTube channel’s audience and community, so it’s great to see the platform enhancing the comments section even further after recently rolling out the ability to pin comments and introducing a creator hearts feature to effectively connect with your channel’s top supporters.
News of the “comment topics” was published by YouTube as they provided updates on the latest happenings in regards to their developments, which also included a smart inbox feature that will provide creators personalized suggestions on engaging with their viewers and collaborating with other YouTube creators.
Along with mentioning the name change of “Creator Studio” to “YouTube Studio”, it was also highlighted that one of YouTube’s newer monetization tools, Super Chat, has helped over 65% of channels double their earnings when using the feature for live-streamed content. This was awesome to see, because we always encourage diversifying your income as a creator, instead of putting all your eggs in the AdSense basket.
Again, the new “comment topics” feature by YouTube sounds very interesting. The feature is optional for creators, meaning you can disable it or even delete individual topics.
That being said, it should help better organize the vast range of discussions that take place under your YouTube vlogs (almost like a forum), while also making it easier for viewers to come across discussions that interest them and encourage them to join in, increasing your channel’s overall engagement!
We’ll definitely be keeping a close eye on this potential game changing feature for vloggers. We’ve posted an example of the new feature below! What are your thoughts? Let’s us know on Twitter.com/VlogNationInc
