When it comes to growing your YouTube channel, and making it the best it can be, getting feedback from viewers can take you a long way. Yes, social media marketing can help you promote your YouTube channel, and yes, you need to have quality content to encourage people to keep watching. However, viewer feedback tells you about exactly what your viewers think of your channel, what they love, and what could be improved.
Businesses all over the world make an effort to receive feedback from their customers because it’s something that works with great results and is very effective in helping them fine tune the way they do things. As a vlogger, it’s important to see your YouTube channel with the same mindset.
So how can you get more feedback and how can you use it to improve your YouTube channel to reach its full potential? You might be surprised at just how helpful Google Forms are for this.
What Are Google Forms?
Google Forms give you the ability to create unique and completely customized forms and surveys for any purpose you need. There’s a lot of free form templates available for users based around various objectives and goals. And you don’t even have to go with one of Google’s templates – you can create your own form for your YouTube channel to fit your needs and your criteria accordingly.
Using Google Forms for Your YouTube Channel
You can use Google Forms to poll your YouTube viewers, get feedback on your video content, collect email addresses for a mailing list dedicated to your channel’s community, and much more, and Google makes it all very easy. Plus, you can get your viewers to participate with ease, as well.
For example, at the end of your YouTube videos, you could include a call to action (CTA) about filling out your survey or poll and mention that viewers can find it at the link in the video description. Just be sure to place the Google Form URL in the first line of your description to ensure it receives maximum exposure.
You can also share your form on your YouTube channel’s social media page(s), as well. Don’t forget to provide your audience with incentive to participate (e.g., holding a Facebook contest or just saying, “Want to see more of the content you’re most interested in? Let me know what you want more of by sharing your input!”).
There’s just so many different ways in which vloggers can use Google Forms for their YouTube channel, especially these three routes:
Receiving Channel Feedback: As we’ve mentioned, you can conduct a poll with your YouTube channel’s audience to see how you’re doing and what could possibly be improved.
YouTube Video Requests and Ideas: In addition to a feedback survey, you could also create a video requests/ideas form that viewers can fill out to tell you about the topics they want to see covered and their ideas for new content.
Content Preferences: You could even create a form in which you ask viewers about their preferences for future content. For example, you could ask how often they’d prefer to see more content, which days, what video length they prefer, and about various other preferences in regards to the content on your YouTube channel.
Overall, we really like how simple the process to create Google Forms and use them for your audience is for creators interested in getting valuable input. Just remember to keep your forms easy for your audience to complete (by including only a few fields in the form) and you’ll get a lot of valuable feedback that will help you make your YouTube channel the best it can be!
