As a YouTuber, having an engaged community around your channel is essential for growth. One way to encourage your viewers to get more involved with your YouTube channel is to reward them for taking action, and there’s now a company called Juniper helping creators make that objective much easier.
Juniper is a platform that YouTubers can use to setup an audience leaderboard system and reward their viewers for things like leaving comments, liking videos, sharing videos, and other actions. To us, it sounds like the team behind Juniper has come up with a very interesting concept providing YouTubers an opportunity to get viewers more engaged on their channel, which can lead to more views and subscribers.
This definitely seems like a really cool idea that can be a potential game changer for the creative community on YouTube, so we had a quick chat with Co-Founder Joel Wegner to learn more about the platform:
Great to have you join us! Could you tell us a bit about Juniper, and how it works?
Thanks for having me! Juniper is a free platform that helps YouTube creators increase engagement and grow their fan base by converting fan loyalty into rewards. By linking directly to YouTube, fans receive loyalty points for actions like commenting, liking, and sharing that they can redeem for physical swag (t-shirts) and virtual rewards (Twitter shout-out).
In what area of a creator’s channel do you see Juniper being the most beneficial?
Definitely fan engagement on a creator’s videos. The creators’ fan-bases have responded with tremendous excitement in regards to quantifying their engagement and receiving rewards. Creators using Juniper have experienced up to an 80% increase in channel engagement and 25% increase in subscribers after announcing their campaigns.
How would you describe Juniper to be a solution in helping YouTubers build and grow a strong community of viewers around their channel?
Juniper has become a useful tool/platform for creators who want/desire a solution to increase engagement and subscriptions on their channel. Another way it’s helping YouTubers build and grow their strong community of viewers is through rewarding their fans (easily or automatically) for their loyal engagement. I.e. Instant virtual rewards and perks.
We all know how much video engagement is crucial to the growth of a YouTube channel, and as a result, Juniper is helping creators reach that next level by providing their fans an incentive to engage more with creators’ videos.
What do you consider to be the best features of Juniper for YouTubers?
There are 3 main features:
- We help increase engagement and the subscriber count on a YouTuber’s channel by motivating fans to actively engage through awarding points for every like, comment and share. Fans can then redeem their points for rewards that are personally picked by the creator.
- Track your top fans through a leaderboard and monitor individual engagement per video.
- Our newest feature helps YouTubers increase their revenue through integrating their merch store to boost traffic and sales. If the creator doesn’t have a merch store, Juniper can also help create and manage one for them.
How has the feedback from YouTubers using the platform been?
The feedback from YouTubers has been overwhelmingly positive. Creators like Shameless Maya have experienced an 80% increase in engagement on videos featured through our Juniper contests. E-gamers like Denis have also experienced a 30% increase in subscriber growth and a 25% increase in merch sales during the duration of his Juniper contests.
Both fan bases of Denis and Shameless Maya have been ecstatic to demonstrate their admiration and efforts to get rewarded for their loyalty (i.e. they enjoy the gamification of YouTube viewership).
Moving forward, what are some of the goals that the team behind Juniper would like to achieve for creators on YouTube?
As mentioned above, we have been experiencing tremendous growth and engagement for every channel that signs up for Juniper. Moving forward, we are placing a larger emphasis on creating ways to generate more income for the creator. At the moment, we are working on driving more traffic and sales to a creator’s merch store.
We are currently testing this feature in private beta and so far, creators are experiencing record sales after integrating their merch stores with Juniper. We are excited to help creators make more revenue and can’t wait to explore this feature and more in the coming weeks!
